Ok so. I went to the Simple Plan show tonight. It was Jersey. Plain White T’s. Mae. and Simple Plan. I only really went to see Mae. and it was worth every dollar. They played for over 30 minutes! Plain White T’s was actually pretty good. I was also impressed with Simple Plan. but I left after about 20 minutes of them. Anyways. I got a Mae hoodie for $25. So. yay!

I listened to this song at least three times today. The lyrics really make you think… they’re pretty intense if you think about it. Hearing the song brings them out too.

[music]
A Boy Brushed Red….Living In Black And White
By UnderOATH

Can you feel your heartbeat racing?
Can you taste the fear in her sweat?
You’ve done this wrong
It’s too far gone
These sheets tell of regret
I admit that I’m just a fool for you
I am just a fool for you

Here is where we both feel wrong
Tonight’s your last chance to
Do exactly what you want to
And this could be my night
This is what makes me feel alive
Makes you feel alive
Here is where we both go wrong
So tie me up
And toss this key
‘Cause for now we’re living in this moment
And we both ignore the truth
It’s all over
It’s all over

I feel your heart against mine
So take a breath and close your eyes

[Chorus]
Your lungs have failed and they both stopped breathing
My heart is dead and its way past beating
Something has gone terribly wrong
I’m scared. you’re scared. we’re scared of this
I never thought we’d make it out alive
I never told you but its all in your goodbyes
It’s all in your goodbyes

Well look who’s dying now
Slit wristless sleeping with the girl next door
I always knew you were such a sucker for that
It doesnt matter what you say
You never mattered anyway
Never mattered anyway

In this moment that we both ignore the truth
It’s all over
It’s all over
I feel your heart against mine
So take a breath and close your eyes

[Chorus]

Don’t shake. i hate to see you tremble
Trembling you’ve lost your touch
Haven’t you run so addicted

TGIF & Bonnica

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

What a week.. I mean… What week? So let’s see… I don’t even remember what I’ve done since my last post… Let me try to recap:

I don’t remember anything about last Friday.

On Saturday. I believe all I did was run sound for Kevin Honnett’s Senior Recital practice and then Rod and I went to Fairview to just go to Best Buy and eat at Panda Express (yum).

I don’t remember anything about last Sunday either.

Monday was simply great. It was a typical Monday until about 6:00 PM. when I got to setup and run sound for former members of Burlap to Cashmere. If you don’t remember them. they were an amazing CCM band in the 90’s. It was just Steven and Johnny. but it couldn’t have been better.

Tuesday I didn’t do much of anything… I don’t remember anything special about this day.

Wednesday was pretty normal. except I didn’t go to Managing LANs or work. since I had to prep and setup for Shakathon. I ran sound for a praise band that played the opening service. It was a lot of work but worth it I think. Not too bad.

On Thursday. I did all of my normalish classes. got my hair cut. slept that evening. went to Sound Reinforcement. and then stayed up pretty late fixing the Blackroom’s Mackie SR24.4 Console. It works now. My hair hasn’t been this short in a long time. Yay.

Today. I went to Rock Class Lab. and then met with Professor Stampfli. I suppose I’m still going to do the Blackroom Site and in the process organize it for future webmasters. There’s also the incentive of pay involved. Then. I took Melody to St. Louis. She had to get finger prints. Then we ventured to Delmar Blvd.. and I got the new Hot Water Music album from Vintage Vinyl. Then we stopped at Best Buy and the mall. and then Target. and came back. It was a good day I think. St. Louis & Melody… always an adventure. Oh. did I mention it was 80 degrees today? Coolness.

Oh yeah. today Bonnie is 24. That’s really really old. Anyways. Happy Bonnica. Unfortunately. Bonnica only has 1 day… so its not like you’re getting 29 presents. Nice try though.

Horray for easy updates!

So. I just found out how to put a link on my Blog to add a new post that only I can see… It’s 2:12 AM and I should be studying for a test I have on Friday. but I’m not… and I’m not tired… I’m just lazy… so… I’ll continue to be the productive self that I am. Tomorrow I’m running sound for Vespers so that should be pretty cool. Other than that… I’m going to be tired. I really like the lyrics to the song “Tool Sheds and Hot Tubs” by Straylight Run. Go buy their CD. It’s real good. Have I said that? I ordered a Watashi Wa sweatshirt like a month ago. and just yesterday they sent my money back saying the band was sold out of them. I’m not happy about this. It was only $25 and it’s Watashi Wa! They broke up but they’re awesome. Did you know. Watashi Wa means “I am” in Japanese? Now I’m gonna have to spend $10 more on a different sweatshirt. I’m outta here!

No more Blackroom for 24 hours…

Sunday, October 17th, 2004

Ok. so… Friday I spent the afternoon in the Blackroom preparing for the Urban Derivatives and Better Days Ahead concert. So I was there from 4:30 PM until about 12:00 AM. The show was great. Today went up at 4:30 PM and setup and ran sound for The Fundamentals. They were great too. All in all. I spent over 30 hours in the Blackroom this week. That’s way too much. Anyways… I was asked at 6:30 PM to run sound for the Sausage Fest show in LaDue tonight at 9:30 PM. which gave me 30 minutes to move over there after I cleaned up from The Fundamentals. Something’s wrong when they spend hundreds of dollars on lighting but failed to book a sound tech. All I did is sit there an turn things up. I just got home. and I’m beat.. and I’m hungry… I think I’ll go fix that.

Blackroom is home…

Thursday, October 14th, 2004

Hello world. It’s me again. Well. I don’t quite remember when the last time I posted was. but it’s been an exciting couple of days. I think I should declare permanant residency in the Blackroom. On Tuesday. I entered the Blackroom at 2:30 PM and left at 10 PM. I ran sound for Pennington’s practice and recorded Praise & Worship Ensemble’s practice. Last night. I entered the Blackroom at 3:30 PM and left at 11:00 PM. I setup and helped run sound for the show last night. I ran sound for Pennington. and they sounded awesome! The Citation played after that. then Solafide (rock my face off). and then Number One Fan. It was a good show. I was so hungry and tired of the Blackroom after that. Rod and I went to Steak & Shake… and WalMart after that. I got the Straylight Run album. and its amazing. You should all check them out. Oh… guess where I am now… in the Blackroom… getting ready to babysit a Rock Class Lab. I have work and WWW Programming after that. and then I’m sooo taking a nap before Vespers. Well… That’s all for now…

Movies!

Saturday, October 9th, 2004

So. I got bored somewhat today and decided to create myself a movie database online. Well. I didn’t create it from scratch but I did do a whole lot of editing of a nice PHP/mySQL script I got on the net. You can now view all of the DVDs I own there. and even get some cool info about each movie. This is for me to inventory my DVDs. as it will allow me to mark DVDs as loaned out and who has them. Go HERE.

What did I change? Well. here’s the list:

  • Added the Rotten Tomatoes Rating System. so that it displays the rating. and the correct icon. Also creates a link to the Rotten Tomatoes site for that movie. if it has one.
  • Modified the Rating system to be the movie’s rating instead of my rating of the movie. I figured this would be much more useful.
  • Modified the Runtime to display “Unknown” instead of 0 if I don’t put in the time of the movie.
  • Modified the layout so that only I have an Admin account. and everyone else just uses the guest account.

Geez.. Is that it? It seemed like a TON more mods when I was doing the PHP editing. Keep in mind. I don’t really know PHP… I’m just somewhat decent at modifying code.

Anyways… I’m hungry and I’m tired… So. I think I’m going to go to sleep… It’s 5:15 AM… So. checkout my movies!

Destination: Worship

Friday, October 8th, 2004

Well. I don’t know what to say really. It’s 4 AM and I’m not tired now. but I should be. I have to be up at 7:30 AM for class. chapel. and Rock Class lab… and then its the weekend! I just watched Beauty and the Beast. What a great movie! Oh yeah. I did get Aladdin the other night… And I did go to WalMart after my last post to get it. along with the new mewithoutYou CD. On Tuesday night. I went to St. Louis to see Nova Child at the Creepy Crawl… and Rod and I ate at Panda Express. and we went to Delmar for some Vintage Vinyl action. I got Hawthorne Heights and Butch Walker (formerly of The Marvelous 3). I couldn’t help it. I think it’s my iPod screaming for more music.

Tonight I ran sound for Vespers. It was awesome. And. as Hadessa put it. worship is a place to go. It’s amazing to know that I can use even my ears for God. Afterwards. Katie O’Neall fowarded this note she recieved from a student:

“I just wanted to say thank you for leading sincere worship. reading scripture. and the heartfelt prayer that went into Vespers tonight. I feel blessed each time I go. and I know some of the reasons are your prayer. preparation. and a love for Jesus. God uses this to lead his people to worship with Him. Thank you for using your gifts for Him.”

How awesome is that? Anyways… do yourself a favor and find Him in worship soon. He wants you to. That said. I think I might be able to sleep now.

Fall Break? What break?!

Tuesday, October 5th, 2004

Ok.. soo. whoever posted the last comment… this one is for you. As for right this second. I don’t really have anything to say. but I’m sure I’ll fill this text box with tons of useless news.
So. today was “Fall Break”. At least. that’s what my school names it so you THINK you’re getting a break.. but really. you just don’t have any day classes or Chapel. Night classes still meet. And so. I had to run sound at Rock Class tonight. I think my blog is getting boring. Perhaps it’s due to the lack of pictures since my camera doesn’t work.
So what did I do with my… “break”? I watched movies… That’s pretty much it. Let’s see.. I watched “The Butterfly Effect”. “Pi”. “Requiem For A Dream”. and “The Girl Next Door”. I actually watched “Mean Girls” again but only the first 75% of it. We all know how it ends. and its not really that funny after Regina George gets… Well. I won’t spoil it if you haven’t seen it yet. Go see it now!
In other news. “Aladdin” comes out on DVD today. and I’m actually thinking about going to WalMart right now to get it. I’m bored… Also. the new mewithoutYou comes out today. Ahh! I’m going to be broke soon.
Oh.. back to my weekend… I slept till at least 1:30 PM every day. I did make tacos on Saturday night. and ate the leftovers for lunch. I spent a couple hours in the studio tracking Tex. and… I went to the mall on Saturday with Joel. my old roommate.
So. I think that should be enough for now… I really can’t decide if I want to go to WalMart or not. but I guess we’ll see.

What time is it anyway?

Tuesday, September 21st, 2004

Ok. so… today was a rather easy but yet easy Monday… I got up and went to mu usual 8:30 AM Music History class… and then opted to skip Chapel and slept until 2:30 PM. Then I made myself lunch and went to Managing LANs. only to find out that class was CANCELLED! I was so happy. I went home and killed an hour or so. and then Rod and I took a trip to O’Rilley’s Auto Parts for me to drop off used oil. and he was looking for paint for his poor car. Then we got back and I had Rock Class until 8:30 PM. It’s somewhat stressful knowing that all of the sound reinforcement for a class is on your shoulders. Granted. I have PLENTY of awesome help. but its still my deal. I’m teaching the other 5 people. sort of. It makes me happy that I’m in a position now where I can teach. even though I feel like I’m still learning.

After I made dinner and killed some more time. Rod and I ventured back to WalMart. Rod bought toys. I bought Action Action and Mean Girls. We got home and I went to bed soon after. but I was in no way tired. so I ended up watching Mean Girls. I hadn’t seen it before. but it is absolutely hysterical! Then again. I’m all about rude and random humor. so of course I’d love it. Anyways. go buy it… then tell me how much you like it. I’m going to bed now… I have to be at the Helpdesk to solve all of the world’s (or Greenville’s) computer problems. Well. OK. not all.. but a few are a start…
