My (Twitter) Status: @RodKim Heh, saw it too. Pretty wicked.

Moving On

Tuesday, July 26th, 2005

So. my task to move from Blogger to Nucleus is complete. I
managed to export all of my Blogger entries to an XML file. then import
them into Nucleus. It took a few tries. but I got it!

I’m touching up on the stylesheet on the Blog. There’s tons left to do.
but at first glance it should look right. Let me know what you think!

It’s been a crazy week. Maybe I’ll backpost about those things later. For now… I’m going to sleepy.

Yippee!

Monday, July 25th, 2005

Ok. both AudioScrobbler functions work. At the bottom of this
post. it should say what song I’m listening to at the moment. Although.
this could be slightly off since the Winamp plugin doesn’t upload data
until a track is halfway through or 240 seconds through. So. it could
be a song off. Oh well. If that fails. you can look at the sidebar and
see what the last 10 tracks I’ve listened to are. That could also be
slightly incorrect. since it caches it for 5 minutes or something. Oh
well.

This page won’t look like this in the future. I need to figure out how to edit the CSS of this monster of a blog.

It’d also be nice if I could somehow import all of my Blogger posts easily.

Any suggestions on features would be great. Try commenting and stuff. I
could allow all of you to register for usernames and such on my blog.
but I don’t think any of you like me that much. Let me know what you
think though.

Audioscrobbler Plugin

Monday, July 25th, 2005

My first plugin attempt is Audioscrobbler. If I’m currently listening to something in Winamp. it’ll automatically add it to the end of my post. Let’s see if it works.

Welcome to the new muzicman82.net

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

So I discovered this nifty blog engine a week ago. I decided it was time to put Blogger to rest and try something else out. Nucleus CMS is a package I install on my server myself. and I can customize it to any extent that I want. I don't need any other service to run it. I'll be trying new things. adding cool stuff. and probably breaking it a few times in the process. Stay tuned.

A day in NYC

Monday, July 11th, 2005

Well. Rod and I decided at about 1 AM yesterday to go to New York today. So. we got to the city at about 1 PM. did some looking around stores and stuff… I got three CDs at the Virgin Megastore:

The Eyeliners – No Apologies
Transplants – Haunted Cities
The Forecast – Late Night Conversations

Oh. I should say I got these recently:

Sleater-Kinney – The Woods
Sleeping at Last – Ghost (finally bought it)
I Can Make a Mess Like Nobody’s Business – Self Titled
Terminal – How The Lonely Keep

I’m liking them all very much.

So then we met up with my old roommate… Dan Layus… of Augustana. It was awesome to see him… Except good stuff from them very soon. We ate at The Stage in Times Square. Thanks for lunch Dan!

Then we went wandering around the city and ended up going to my Dad’s apartment in Brooklyn. Then we went to Ground Zero for a few minutes and came home. Long day… but worth the trip.

Night kids.

Today.

Things I did today:

Woke up.
Went to Cowtown… First time in probably two years. Bought nothing.
Went to Cream Valley for Ice Cream and a Cheeseburger.
Went to Lowe’s and bought a new dishwasher.
Ate Chinese food.
Removed four ceramic tiles.
Removed old dishwasher.
Installed new dishwasher.

Going to NYC tomorrow. If you’re in the area call me.

MySQL Music

Friday, July 1st, 2005

OK. so I finally made the music sidebox a database driven function. Now I don’t have to edit my Blogger template to change things. This means I’ll probably update it more often… assuming my Music Addictions change. You can go to my Audioscrobber page to see what else I’ve been listening to lately. That only accounts for stuff I play on my PC… so it misses everything from my iPod. So sad. Well. it’s Friday and I am sleeping in tomorrow!

Go over to http://www.bel.com and check out the Flash banner I made today.

Free Web Hosting!!!

Wednesday, June 29th, 2005

This is real! The hosting company I just signed up with a few weeks ago has a promotion for free web hosting for an entire year (by mail-in rebate). Its normally a good deal at $60/year for 5 GB storage and 75 GB of bandwidth. with a buttload of other stuff. They’ve gotten good reviews by everywhere I’ve looked.

Go to http://www.globat.com and sign up! Be sure to put in muzicman82.net as the domain that referred you! I don’t know if I get anything but it’d be cool if I did.

Back to work.

Wednesday, June 29th, 2005

Well. it was back to work for me today. I loaded in a sound system to Gore. set it up. came back to the shop. worked for a few hours. went back to Gore to load out. and then came home. Exciting. And. yes. that’s the Gore that makes Gore-Tex and other high tech fabrics out there today. Pretty high tech plant.

I made cheeseburgers. took a nap. played drums. installed a new 250GB hard drive. set it up in RAID0. and then Rod and I watched The Aviator. I don’t know what to do with 700 GB of storage in this computer.

I should go to bed. Waking up is going to suck.

Updates!

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

Well. sort of. I ditched the original /blog/ URL and moved it to the homepage since I never updated that one. So. get used to the new address… It’s probably much better this way. Item pages should really work now. Oh. and comments are good… so use them. cuz it took a while to make that code work. Some of the sidebar items are gone until I rewrite the code for that. It’s going to be PHP/MySQL.

Oh. and I’m back in NJ. Somehow it turned out to be a 15 hour drive to Greenville. I stayed for 13 hours. and then drove back. The drive back took 22 hours. That’s cuz Rod and I stopped a lot. Oh well. Time for food. Night.
