It’s a good day for…
Friday, March 10th, 2006Shrimp Scampi!

So. this is what happens when I don’t cook anything for weeks. And. it was well worth it. Yummy. I have to admit. it tastes much better than it looks.

I never got around to posting these pictures from the Dexter Brank / Rod Kim show on Saturday.

And in news for today… guess what I found at the store!!!

Umm yeah. it’s good. And now. it’s in a fridge pack.
First. a photo blog… or two.

Rosie hit 255.000 miles today. I was sure to capture the moment. I think that’s pretty deserving of new tires. Hmm. perhaps next payday.
Yes. I drink Coke for breakfast. 7:30 AM is the perfect time for the refreshment.
So. yesterday. I picked up Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I rather enjoyed this one. It was much darker than the previous three. Isn’t it kind of weird that they’re on the fourth movie with the fifth in progress? I mean. I remember the first one! I remember the midnight showings of the 2nd and 3rd at Greenville’s lovely Globe Theater.
Here I am. 3:30 AM. and I’m not very tired. It’s actually nice to be awake and not running around. working. and worrying about what job I’m on.
I think I will attempt to get a haircut tomorrow. My hair grows way too fast. What’s worse… it grows from the sides faster than the rest… Oh well… let’s see if I actually manage to get my butt down there to get it cut.
My plans for the week were/are kind of distorted from the origianl plan. I had a recording gig on Monday. which was fine… Tuesday I ended up working a Junior Achievement of DE gig that I didn’t know about until the night before. Today I worked a sound system demo in the morning and went to AAA in the afternoon. I didn’t know about the demo until the night before as well. I like randomness and spontaneous stuff… but I don’t like it when a decent amount of planning is shot to hell for something else. And. when it comes to work… there’s a certain about of mental preparation that is involved. If I’m not mentally ready to be lifting. loading. packing. and moving equipment… it’ll be the last thing I want to be doing. If I’ve been expecting it and then it comes up… I’m fine. and I enjoy it.
And. to go along with that rant… I’m not sure what my schedule is tomorrow. It’ll be a random day I’m sure… but at least I’m expecting that.
Rod just informed me that Augustana is playing in Philly on Saturday. And. we’re definitely going. Yay!
Well. I think I may go putz around on the Web for a while until I decide its bright enough outside for me to go to sleep… I won’t shouldn’t stay up that late… but we’ll see.
Goodnight world.
I’m more excited than you can imagine right now. Now to wait out the next stinking 8 months.
Today I was at AAA Mid-Atlantic again doing work in the Boardroom. The projector lift had issues that needed resolved. and I had some other programming to do there. I got back to the shop at about 6 PM. and prepped a recording gig for Monday. Afterwards. Rod and I ate at Bennigan’s. CRAP!!!!!! Ok.. I just now realized. I left my three left over Chicken Bacon Ranch Potato Skins on the table! Grrr! Bah! Those were good. They’re new… so go try them! (Idiot. Idiot. Idiot.)
Ok. I’m back. After we ate. we walked around Target and then went and saw Ultraviolet. Ok. for those of you looking for a good movie… don’t see it. For those looking to see a movie… an entertaining movie… and an acton movie… Go now! I enjoyed it. even though the plot doesn’t really make sense… and tons of things aren’t explained. It’s still visually beautiful… (I’m not just talking about Milla’s bum.) The action was great! Oh well…
Oh.. and.. On the way up the escalator to the theater… I had to make a slight detour to buy myself a $1 present… And it’s the best $1 present ever.

Well. it was an uneventful day. However. I had Hamburger Helper – Chili Macaroni tonight!! It was yummy. I even have proof.
See. I used to eat this stuff at least twice a week in college. Well. maybe not that much… but it was still good. I mean… for like… $2.50… it’s a bargain. I could generally get a couple meals out of it too! When I got home from college. I couldn’t find this flavor anywhere. Good old WalMart in Elkton. MD had it… and I had to get some!
That’s the news for today. More later?
See. I’m getting better at posting.

I also picked up Walk The Line. which is a rather good movie. I ate at Red Robin tonight… soo good. And.. well. it’s almost Friday!! This is a really short. boring post… Maybe I’ll write more later.
To me. Yeah. you’re probably wondering where the heck I’ve been and what I’ve been up to for the past 2 months. I’m not going to tell you… Well. not everything. What’s important is right now… because. right now. I’m blogging. Blogging means news right? Not really. but.. oh well… Ok. here goes.
Last Monday. I left for Nyack. NY for class. Class!? I’m done school!! Well. I went up there for Essentials of Crestron Programming. It was held at the IBM Executive Conference Center in Palisades. NY. If you’re not familiar with what Crestron is. become familiar… because you want it. Trust me. In a nut shell. it is a System Controller for audio. video. lighting. and security systems. You give it all of your hardware. and a programmer codes all of the details into it to automate everything your hardware is supposed to do. For example. in your dream home. your house is decked out with a house wide sound system. home theater. lighting. and security systems… In each room. you have a wall mounted touchpanel. From there. you can select any song in your library to play in that room or throughout the house. You can also control all of your house’s lighting… or see who’s at the front door. Say you’re watching a movie on your home theater system. Someone comes to the door and rings the doorbell. You can have your Crestron programmed to pause the DVD. and popup on your screen the camera for that door so you can see who is there. Perhaps a room mic comes on so you can talk back to them. It’s all glorious stuff.
Anyways. I program Crestron for work. I kind of taught myself how over the summer. So. class.. which ran from Tuesday thru Friday… was rather unneccessary for me. I didn’t learn anything new really. I won’t say it was a waste of time. because it was nice to hear that I’ve been doing things correctly. While I was there. I stayed at a Super 8. which was just fine for me. About a half mile down the road was the Palisades Center. It is huge! Regardless of size. they had a Panda Express. About 5 miles further down the road. was a White Castle. I was set for the week! I purchased 3 DVDs to waste my time away: Rent. North Country. and Elizabethtown. More on those later. I returned home Friday night after class. It was a nice drive back. Now. if only I could get through my open projects for work before picking up new ones.
My newest. only slightly different friend Katie says I should tell you about Coke… And she’s right… I should. I’m drinking one right now… and it’s 5:37 AM. There’s no wrong time for Coke. I’m convinced. Even when I was in NY for class. the Conference Center had Coke out with juice and coffee every morning. I enjoyed that very much. I’ve decided I like cans of Cherry Coke and Coke Classic better than bottles. Depending on the source. I like fountain better. I’m always surprised when places have fountain Cherry Coke. It makes me happy. And… just so you know.. Coke is far better than Pepsi. Coke is the real thing. I’ve also noticed that the fizz from a Coke can sounds much different. and better. than fizz from a Pepsi can. And. only Coke has cute little polar bears and penguins for the advertisements.
I’ve recently realized that my site is not even close to being complete. Things are outdated. links are broken. and… well… I’m just lazy. I’ll get to it right away.
North Country is an amazing movie. It’s not exactly the type of movie you would just sit down and watch though. It is a rather serious movie. I was impressed. That’s all I’ll say.
Rent was just as I expected. Keep in mind. I saw the Broadway performance prior to seeing the movie. I liked Chris Columbus’s style throughout… but there’s just something about the stage that you can’t put on film. I think Chicago came about as close as you can.
Elizabethtown was good… at least I thought. It was a lot lighter of a film than Vanilla Sky and Almost Famous… Two of Cameron Crowe’s other films. To me. it seemed like Garden State with a splash of Vanilla Sky… I liked it.
MySpace is releasing cell phones soon. You have been warned. It’s just going to be a pathetic day when that happens. MySpace has SPAM!! Fox owns MySpace! Those should be good enough reasons to stay away.
Well. February is over… But. not until I buy Lady and the Tramp tomorrow on DVD! Another Disney class comes home tomorrow. Gosh. I sound like a commercial.
In other news… Rod is moving out… He’s decided it’s time. My mother is sad… but… it’s not like she or I won’t see him. For those completely lost…. I work with him… and for those still lost… you’ll just have to ask me sometime.
I think its time for me to actually get some work done now… I’ll sleep when I’m tired. I’m nocturnal…
Well. it’s definitely been forever since I last posted. I apologize. Alrighty. on with the latest.
Merry Christmas!! Mine was exciting and surprising. It was probably the first year in my life I didn’t give my mother a Christmas list. I had no idea what was coming to me. To my surprise. I got a new iPod! It’s replacing my 4th Gen 40GB since it is dying: the dock connector is sort of broke. and the hard drive is giving out. It’s a nice upgrade. I also got a Das Keyboard (nothing printed on the keys. for Geeks only!). Rod got me the Nirvana boxed set which I’ve been secretly staring at for months. My mother also took me. my brother. and Rod out to NYC for the weekend… sort of. We went up on Christmas Eve. and the day after Christmas. Things we did: ate at Carmine’s on 44 St.. saw the Blue Man Group. had Frozen Hot Chocolate at Serendipity. ate at Ollie’s on 44th. saw Rent on Broadway. saw the School of Rock students perform at the B.B. King Club. It was all pretty amazing.
Happy New Year!! I didn’t do much. but Rod and my mother went to Delaware Park at 2:30 AM to play slots. I dwindled $45 down to $5. then brought it back up to $40 with 2 cent slots. I’m pretty proud of that. Rod went from $45 to $11. My mother turned $20 into $75 with nickle slots. That was an adventure. I made potato soup. Today I slept until 4 PM. Rod and I went to see Memoirs of a Geisha. It was decent. but it’s basically an American directed Asian soap opera. That obviously means you want to punch the next female you see. Since it is currently 11:57 PM. that completes my New Year’s experience.
