Hello 2008!
Well, this is my first post of the new year, and I while I don’t care much for resolutions (or breaking them), I am always amazed how quickly time goes by. It seems like just yesterday that I was just learning about how to use my (then) new Canon Digital Rebel XTi. With that, I’d like to point out a few of the year’s highlights and/or milestones.
In no particular order:
- I’ve own my Digital Rebel XTi for just about a year now. I now have 3 great lenses, and I just invested in a nice tripod.
- Joined Flickr. Today, I have 341 photos. That’s pretty much nothing compared to a lot of other Flickr addicts.
- I’ve taken about 3,200 shots with the Rebel XTi. Again, not that many compared to others… but I hope to boost that number this year.
- I’ve put about 20,000 miles on Rosie (my 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee). She has 294,200 miles on her right now. She’s running great!
- Joined NAPP (National Association of Photoshop Professionals). This is a recent accomplishment, but I hope to get a lot out of it in 2008.
- I’ve joined the High Definition experience and am now watching HD-DVD and Blu-ray titles very happily.
- I’ve purchased a LOT of software this year, including Adobe Creative Suite 3 Master Collection, Adobe Photoshop Lightroom, Adobe Audition 3, Windows Vista Ultimate, and a slew of much cheaper but incredibly useful programs that I can’t live without.
- My Dell XPS M1710 laptop is just over a year old now. I still find it to be a GREAT computer. It has held up very nicely over the year. And, it’s still a top performer as far as computers go.
- My desktop computer has been upgraded to an Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz processor and now sports 4GB RAM and an nVidia Geforce 8800GT video card for some sweet gaming action!
- I joined Lynda.com Online Training and have been learning a ton about the Adobe Creative Suite.
- I attended the Adobe Creative License Conference in June, and I still consider it a great experience in recent memory.
- In 2007, I took my first vacation in 2 years.
- I no longer have MP3s on my computer. They are all ripped in FLAC.
- I traded up my iPod Video for an iPod Classic 160GB, and also got an iPod Classic 80GB.
- I turned 25 years old.
Anyways, I should head to bed.
