June is ending?

Saturday, June 28th, 2008

Hello world.

It’s been a while week. Tuesday, I was back down at the Bottle & Cork teching the Citizen Cope show. Our role was minor, which was nice. It actually got me more time to just watch and enjoy a show for a change. The show was sold out and packed. The hope is that they’ll do two dates next summer.

After recovering from that, I was back to some video editing madness. I must admit, I love the variety that comes with my job. It’s stressful, and it’s hell most of the time, but I cannot imagine having to do the same thing every day. I would probably hate life.

I’m ready for some time off. I need to do things other than work, eat, sleep, repeat. I’m considering a random trip to NYC next week. Other than that, I don’t think I’ll get to take some quality vacation time until September. If gas wasn’t so expensive, I’d just randomly drive somewhere and hide for a while.

Last night, Rod and I saw Wanted. What a wicked awesome movie! If you enjoy edge-of-your-seat action, this is a must see. The film’s got style. Today we saw WALL-E. It’s just brilliant. Pixar has perfected the formula for good family movies, and they execute it so effortlessly. There’s not much dialog, which makes it even more impressive.

Yep, I’m posting earlier than usual today in celebration of Juno’s release on Blu-ray. I’m gonna go watch! You shold pick it up too if you have it.

My Blu-ray Wish List

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Well, now that HD-DVD is effectively out of the picture, I think it is time to start thinking about movies I want on Blu-ray. Don’t get me wrong, I still have HD-DVDs and can still play them. I’m not even opposed to buying more if they’re cheap!

  • The Lord of the Rings Trilogy
  • The Matrix Trilogy
  • The Incredibles
  • Moulin Rouge!
  • Transformers
  • The Island
  • Little Miss Sunshine
  • The Royal Tenenbaums
  • Lost In Translation
  • Bee Movie

There’s definitely more.. but I’m tired of thinking right now.

Hulu

Monday, March 24th, 2008

If you haven’t heard of it yet, go check out hulu. It’s a video site offering lots of TV episodes and movies… for FREE. It’s even run as a joint venture between some major studios. The quality is quite good. Check it out. Now you’ll never get anything done. But at least you’ll have no excuse for being bored.

Wasting my life away.

So, I’ve been trying to catch up on movies and such lately… “Feast of Love” was pretty good. I did really like “Death At A Funeral”. That was pretty funny. I also just so happened to get the new “Bionic Woman” series on DVD. Overall I found it rather entertaining, even it wasn’t perfect. It is disappointing that there are currently only 8 episodes due to the stupid strike. Anyways, I’m currently watching “Year of the Dog” with Molly Shannon. I should get back to watching!

It’s Magical!

Tuesday, March 18th, 2008

Well, I picked up Enchanted on Blu-ray today. Pretty awesome. It’s a perfect combination of mock and tribute to the Disney classics, most of which I own on DVD. Speaking of Disney Classics on DVD, I got 101 Dalmatians last week, and its just as good as I remember it, minus the crappy VHS video quality. Next up is Pinocchio I think. Oh, and Sleeping Beauty is going to be the first Disney classic on Blu-ray. I can’t wait!

Board Game Movies – WTF?

Thursday, March 6th, 2008

Yeah, Clue was made into a movie… and Zathura… but now, according to this deal, Candy Land, Monopoly, and Ouija are going to be movies soon. My gosh, they’re running out of ideas.

And while we’re on the topic of ridiculous ideas, The Sims will also become a movie.

I finally watched Serenity…

Sunday, January 13th, 2008

For whatever reason, I hadn’t bought or watched Serenity until today. I got it from Netflix on HD-DVD since I couldn’t remember if it was one of the free discs I’ve been waiting on for months now. In any case, it’s probably the best original sci-fi movies I’ve seen in a long time. I only saw perhaps one episode of the predecessor TV series Firefly while it was on. I simply don’t have the attention span to watch a show on a weekly basis. I remember reading about the show being canceled and later remember the surprising 81% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. I put it on my “to watch” list way back when. Anyways, if you haven’t seen it yet, I recommend you do so. Obviously, I’d say if you are Buffy or Angel fans, you’d like it.. but if you’re fans of those, you’ve probably already seen it. If you enjoyed Aeon Flux or Ultraviolet, this would be right up your alley. It’s probably a better movie than both of those combined. I might even be compelled to watch Firefly now…

And it’s almost Friday..

Rosie's Growing Up! My gosh time flies too fast when you’re not paying attention. I had a couple service calls today in Dover, DE. Driving down there isn’t bad, but it’s not fun either. Fortunately, traffic was kind. I also found that yet another Quizno’s has closed. What in the world is happening?  Also, as you can see from the photo, Rosie reached the 295,000 mile mark today. What else for today? Oh, I watched Sunshine with Dexter tonight. It’s a pretty good movie. It’s certainly beautiful to watch to the point of being incredibly captivating. I recommend it, especially on Blu-ray. Well, that’s more news for one day than I’ve had in a long time. Goodnight!

I just thought you should know…

The Simpsons Movie on Blu-ray is amazing. That’s all for today.
