So, it’s been a year…

Saturday, April 26th, 2008

.. of blogging! Well, let me clarify. I’ve had this blog since 2004. However, I decided a year ago I’d post at least something every day for a year… Well, 2008 being a leap year and all, I posted 440 posts in the past 366 days. This will be post 441. Anyways, it was quite a challenge. We’ll see what happens next. I think I’m done posting every day for a while. Instead, I’ll just post when I have something worth saying.

I’ve got to work tomorrow in prep for Monday. I need a nap too.

Let’s See Some Comments!

Wednesday, April 9th, 2008

Well, I just installed Intense Debate comment system. It should be super cool… although for all 2 of you that read this, I doubt it’ll make a difference. Anyways, you can log in to comment with OpenID if you’d like. You may already have one. OpenID is an emerging way to have an identity span multiple sites! Anyways… try if you’d like.

WordPress 2.2.2

Sunday, September 2nd, 2007

I just updated to the latest version finally. All I had to do is replace the existing files with the new ones and everything seems good! We’ll find out soon enough I guess.

Snap Shots!

Monday, May 21st, 2007

I’ve decided to add Snap Shots since I’ve been doing a lot of external linking on here. This will give you all sorts of previews and info before you click on my links. This is so you can immediately ignore the links I’m suggesting, instead of having to click the link, wait for the page to load, and THEN decide that I’ve wasted your time with yet another useless destination on the web. So, I’m actually doing you a favor.

If you hate them, let me know.. I’ll ditch them if enough of you complain. But, since there’s like two of you that read this, only one of you has to say something I guess…

In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, hover your cursor over some of the links in my posts…

I need to figure out how to DISABLE the popup for some links like my contact section, and my Flickr pictures, since I have Lightbox.

Anyways… I thought they were nifty.

WordPress 2.2 Up and Running!

Friday, May 18th, 2007

I just did my first ever WordPress upgade, to version 2.2. It couldn’t have been easier. I did take the time to separate WordPress files from my customized files so that future upgrades take even less time. I also added some nifty PHP code that tests whether my Last.fm - Recent Tracks feed has any data or not. If it doesn’t, then it won’t be displayed.

Lightbox Effect is Back!

Wednesday, May 9th, 2007

Yellow on Pink?I’ve been using the Flickr Photo Gallery Plugin for WordPress to easily add Flickr photos to posts. It’s very convenient. However, it linked the photos to their Flickr page instead of doing something like a Lightbox effect. So, I went and found the Slightbox for WordPress plugin, and modified the Flickr gallery code to automatically generate the correct code for me. So, from now on, every post’s images will display in a Lightbox gallery. Yay

I think I like WordPress!

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

Up close and personal. As you can see, I’ve got my page pretty well customized. I made the default theme wider and adjusted a few things. Let me know what you think! I’ve also got this sweet Flickr plugin for WordPress that saves me from having to go to my Flickr account to find the URL for a photo. I was going to tackle making my own plugin, but someone beat me to it. So, that’s why I’ve got this random photo in this post.

WordPress!

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

I went for the migration after I edited the previous post, in Joomla! Since you’re reading this, I’ve successfully switched to WordPress without losing any posts! I probably have to go back and fix past post to get some “Joomla-only” code out. This switch only took about 20 minutes.

Don’t worry. This template and layout won’t be staying long! But, I wanted to get WordPress up and running. It’s the default… and lucky for me, the color scheme is similar to the old site template.
